By using LED bulbs instead of halogen or filament bulbs, you can benefit from much more powerful and uniform lighting, while considerably reducing current consumption.

The alternator or dynamo, the beams and the comodos of your Oldtimer will be preserved. Fitting LEDs to more recent vehicles will also enhance safety, thanks to the power of the light beam.

As a reminder, the luminous power of an LED is measured in LUMEN (lm). A BA21d 3 lugs traditional filament 6V 40/45w emits approximately 500/800 lm, consuming around 6A/6v per bulb and per function. The 3 pin bulb was used in French cars from the 1920s to 1960.

This new BA21d 3-pin LED bulb emits a luminosity equivalent to a 100w halogen bulb for only 1.5 Amps of consumption at 6V (0.9A at 12V). This performance is made possible by high-quality LED components controlled by highly sophisticated electronic circuits built into the bulb. This bulb is pure Plug@Play, and requires no modification or adaptation; it will fit into the original bracket in place of the old tungsten filament bulb.

Choosing to fit your vehicle with LED lighting isn't just a question of fashion, it's above all a question of safety and visual comfort on the road. The preservation of the vehicle's mechanical and electrical components is also a decisive argument in favour of switching to LED.

Finally, the life of LED bulbs, estimated at between 20 & 30,000 h, is much longer than that of traditional bulbs (2 to 3,000 h).

Today, the replacement of halogen, xenon and LED lamps is not allowed under current legislation. In the EU, car parts must be certified according to UNECE specifications for use on public roads. Current ECE certificates only apply to halogen, xenon and LED lamps installed in new vehicles: However, there are no specific approval requirements or restrictions for the use of retrofit LED lamps on private roads.
