- PLUG & PLAY identical to the original housing with no modifications
Using LED bulbs instead of halogen bulbs provides much more powerful and even lighting, while significantly reducing power consumption.
The alternator or alternator, beams, comodos of your OLDTIMER are preserved. Adapting LEDs on more recent vehicles will also enhance safety, due to the power of the light beam.
As a reminder, the luminous flux is measured in LUMEN (lm), a traditional R2_H5 Tungsten 45/55 w, emits about 15 Lumen/w, consuming about 4 amps per bulb and per function. These R2-4XL LED bulbs have a luminous flux up to 100 lm/w. It is almost identical in size to the R2 in the TUNGSTEN, and can be fitted without any modification, in place of the original thanks to the R2/H4 interface ring (Plug&Play). It has no ballast, and is the shortest R2 on the market, for this power and robustness.
The life of LED bulbs is estimated at between 20000 and 30000 hours, much longer than that of traditional bulbs (2 to 3000 hours). The choice to equip your vehicle with LED lighting is not just a question of fashion. It is above all for safety and visual comfort on the road. The preservation of the vehicle's mechanical components is also a decisive argument for switching to LED.
Today, the replacement of halogen, xenon and LED lamps is not allowed under current legislation. In the EU, car parts must be certified according to UNECE specifications for use on public roads. Current ECE certificates only apply to halogen, xenon and LED lamps installed in new vehicles: However, there are no specific approval requirements or restrictions for the use of retrofit LED lamps on private roads.
